About Belkin

Humanity, at least in the developed world, thrives on three essentials: coffee, phones, and wireless internet. These days, there are coffee shops and Starbucks on every street corner, so the first need is met. And while Belkin doesn’t make phones or invent the internet, the company has products that can improve both.

Belkin is an American company with some of the leading digital device accessories when it comes to convenience, effectiveness, and ease of use. With over 78,000 followers on Instagram and sales in countries around the world, their vision seems to appeal to a lot of people.

In this Belkin review, I’ll explore the company’s history, products, pricing, and more to give you a clear idea of what to expect when you add one of their items to your wish list.

Belkin Review

Overview of Belkin

Since 1983, Belkin has been instrumental in bridging the gap between customers and their computers.

No, I don’t mean they’re a computer delivery service. Quite the opposite, in fact. They create accessories and peripherals that can make your life a lot easier when it comes to technology.

Chet Pipkin founded Belkin while studying at UCLA to fix a problem he predicted would become more common over time: computers have too many damn cords and people need a way to shorten those cords.

We all know the jokes about electrical outlets being a fire hazard when too many devices are plugged into them, and one might assume that Belkin had a hand in making this just a joke and not reality.

Pipkin started out making computer cables in his parent’s house and had a lot of success with local computer stores. But as you’ll discover in this Belkin review, Pipkin and his company didn’t stick with computer cables forever.

They adapted to market demands and in the 2000s they saw the rise of smartphones and tablets, which they eventually developed products for as well.

Most of their products are geared towards mobile devices because that market is so big these days. This shift attracted investors and corporate partners, leading to Foxconn buying Belkin for over $800 million in 2018.

Today, Belkin’s products are available in over 50 countries, though they are still developed near Pipkin’s home in Southern California. They are designed to tackle the real-world tasks and hurdles people face, so you’ll find items with superior charging speeds, magnetic grips, and multiple outlets.

Despite all of that, my Belkin review has barely scratched the surface of what makes this brand so reputable. Let’s dive into some of their highlights to help you better understand why they have maintained such a strong position in today’s mobile-dominated market.

The list of items you could snag on this brand’s website is way beyond the scope of this Belkin review. I’ll tell you about some of the most distinctive products from Belkin’s library in a moment, but first, you should know what other great stuff they sell.

Belkin breaks all of its products down into the following categories:

Speakers and Headphones

Smart Home Devices

Chargers

Surge Protectors

Screen Protectors

Cables

Adapters

Routers

There are a few other miscellaneous items floating around in Belkin’s vast library, but I thought you’d have the overview by now.

Belkin Chargers Review

The first product subsection I want to focus on is one of the most important items in today’s mobile-dependent climate. Of course, I’m talking about chargers, and Belkin chargers may be some of the best on the market.

The first item I have to tell you about in my Belkin review is the Belkin Boost Charge PRO 2-in-1 Charging Stand with MagSafe 15W, if only because I can’t believe there aren’t more items like it.

It seems so obvious – most people use their phones while charging and are tired of having to hold them in comfortable positions. This charger does both jobs.

The Belkin Boost Charge PRO 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe 15W uses magnets to attach your iPhone 12 to the stand. That way, it shouldn’t fidget out of your hand or vibrate through alerts in a way that disconnects from the charging cable.

This stand can also charge your AirPods while it charges your phone. This shouldn’t affect charging speeds either, as it uses a 15W charging cable, which is one of the fastest in the industry.

While the previous item I talked about in this Belkin review offered a great balance between charging and ergonomics, the Belkin Boost Charge PRO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe is all about efficiency. This is probably the best way to charge multiple devices at once.

This charging pad can charge your Apple Watches, iPhones 12 and 13, and AirPods simultaneously.

Belkin claims it charges each of these devices up to 33% faster than standard charging cables, so you’re actually getting more done in one go than if you were to connect each device to its own charging cable.

That being said, the sleek design of this Belkin 3-in-1 charger can’t be faulted. It fits Apple’s minimalist aesthetic and looks like it should be included with all purchases from the company. You can add it to your cart for $150.

Belkin Router Review

The best routers should work so well that you forget you even have one, while the worst ones tend to linger in your mind like an awkward conversation at the bar. Thankfully, I’ll focus on the former in this section of my Belkin review.

If you’re trying to get high-speed internet to as many devices as possible, the Belkin AX3200 WiFi 6 Router might be for you.

This router can serve up to 25 devices in a 2,000 square foot space while handling speeds of up to 3.2 Gbps. If those are too many numbers for you, look at it this way: The Belkin AX3200 WiFi 6 Router can do quite a bit.

Setting up this router is also a breeze, as it uses a browser-based installation process, so this should be second nature to most people.

Speaking of second nature, this item features dual-band streaming, allowing users to watch shows, play games, listen to music, and more at the same time, making your internet feel smooth and natural.

You can also customize the network this Belkin router shares with features like parental controls and privacy settings. If this level of control appeals to you, consider purchasing this router for $100.

Admittedly, the next item in my Belkin review isn’t technically a router, but it can be a fantastic tool for extending the range and performance of your current router. This device can work with routers from other vendors, including those from your actual service provider.

The Belkin RX7500 WiFi Extender can boost your WiFi signal up to WiFi 6, which is considered cutting edge technology in WiFi speeds these days. It can handle up to 1.8Gbps and extend the range of your WiFi up to 2,000 square feet.

This product is available for $90, which is a reduction from its regular price of $130.

Uber drivers, those who frequently get tickets for texting while driving, and people who can’t find their way around for the life of them can all rejoice; the Belkin Car Vent Mount PRO with MagSafe has the answers to your worries.

Of course, I’m being a bit sarcastic, but the last product in my Belkin review seems to be a step ahead of most car mounts for mobile devices.

It uses MagSafe technology to hold your phone firmly and in sight. Many car mounts lose their grip when you hit a bumpy road, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the Belkin Car Vent Mount PRO with MagSafe.

Plus, it has a hook on the back where you can attach your charging cable. That means you don’t have to fiddle with locking mechanisms or settings to charge your iPhone 12.

You can buy the Belkin Car Vent Mount PRO with MagSafe for $40.

Who is Belkin for?

Belkin’s products are for people who are tired of dealing with cables, cords, and confusion. The items I talked about today can save you from the endless headaches that come with phones that didn’t fully charge when you expected them to, or slow Wi-Fi connections.

Belkin Reviews: What do customers think?

I’ve made a list of all the ratings customers have given to the products in this Belkin review on the brand’s website. Some items, like the routers, didn’t have customer reviews, so I didn’t list them here.

However, I think the numbers paint a pretty solid picture of what people think about Belkin:

Belkin Boost Charge PRO 2-in-1 Charging Stand with MagSafe 15W: 4.6/5 stars based on 230+ reviews

Belkin Boost Charge PRO 3-in-1 Charging Pad with MagSafe: 4.0/5 stars based on 160+ reviews

Belkin Car Vent Mount PRO with MagSafe: 3.7/5 stars based on 200+ reviews

It would be a crime if I relied on just this one source to know what people think about Belkin. With that in mind, I also consulted a few other sites to see if customer reaction differed from what was reported on Belkin’s site. This is what I found.

Amazon: 4.5/5 stars based on 5,000+ customer feedback for the Belkin Wireless Charging Pad 7.5W

Consumer Affairs: 3.8/5 stars based on 320+ customer feedback

As you can see, most Belkin reviews were positive, regardless of where they came from. One of the most frequently mentioned compliments was that Belkin’s products were sturdy and durable. It didn’t matter if people were talking about charging cables, stands, or mounts; they were all described similarly.

Here’s a detailed 5/5 star customer review from Amazon explaining this point:

“I was expecting a cable that was thin and ‘zig-zagged’ like the original iPod cable. This cable is actually pretty sturdy and seems to be able to withstand quite a bit at first glance. I plugged it into my truck where it will stay for life.”

Other reviews spoke about the efficiency of Belkin’s chargers. Customers claimed they were fast and convenient, like this nice shopper on Amazon:

“I’ve owned this 3-in-1 charger for 18 months now. It is by far the best charger I’ve ever had. It has no problem charging my phone, watch, and AirPods at the same time… This charger continues to work just as well as it did when it was brand new and has never faltered. It’s definitely worth the little extra money.”

There have been many Belkin reviews saying that the products justify their price due to their reliability. That’s exactly what one customer explains in his 5/5 star review of the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe:

“Don’t waste your time like I did with all the knock-offs for a fraction of the price offered online. They look and feel the same, but the electronics inside are completely unreliable. Just pay for Belkin quality and you won’t have to worry every morning about whether or not your device actually charged (I had to return two previous knock-offs).”

The company hasn’t been completely faultless as there have been some reports of unsatisfactory customer service.

However, you have to keep in mind that Belkin is a huge company and therefore can’t ensure that every customer interaction is 100% positive. So I’d say the positive customer response more than makes up for these negative reviews.

Belkin Review

Is Belkin worth the money?

While you’ll be paying a little more than you would for other similar items, I think the goods in this Belkin review are worth it.

It’s annoying to have to replace chargers every few months, so you might as well invest your money in a product you know will last.

Belkin Promotions and Discounts

Belkin’s website has a sale section that offers great discounts on some of the brand’s best products.

For example, you can snag the Belkin BOOST↑UP™ Wireless Charging Dock: Wireless Charging Pad + Apple Watch Dock (Certified Refurbished) for just $70, which is amazing considering it normally costs $160.

Additionally, Belkin is currently running a sale on its Wemo products. You can save 20% on all Wemo products by using the code WAS20 on the product checkout page.
